Battle of the Books Skinner North 4th-6th grade Battle of the Books teams got 1st place at the City Finals! Congratulations to the team, which included: Beatriz W, Samarth A, Hannah G, Krishvi N, Jude P, Kush S, and Dhwaj V. They were incredible- they were so prepared, worked well together and had a blast! Students prepare by reading books on a provided list and then participate in a day tournament or game, like College Bowl or Family Feud, in which students' teams earn points by answering questions about the books on the book lists. CPS’s Art 2023 All-City Visual Arts Exhibition re*ver*ber*ate (Updated) Congratulations to Krishvi, Dhwaj, Jerry Z. and Sophie Y. on their honorable mention’ for her Art submission to CPS’s Art 2023 All-City Visual Arts exhibition re*ver*ber*ate. Check out student artwork at the exhibition site. Zimo L. (300) was chosen to be included in the exhibition at the Design Museum of Chicago at 72 E Randolph. There were over 3,000 artworks submitted to the exhibition this year and it is a huge honor to be among the few selected to be showcased to all of Chicago! Diversity Committee
Earlier in the year, select 7th and 8th grade SN students attended a Leadership Day during which they met Shermann Dilla Thomas. Last week, Dilla fielded questions and shared with 3rd-8th grade students unique stories about Chicago history. Thank you to SN students Joseph and Kaila for their great introduction to each assembly! International Fest - Help needed Thank you to the students and families who signed up to create the cultural show (3:30pm auditorium) and activity stations (5:00pm gym) for International Fest. It's shaping up to be a fantastic event! WE NEED HELP WITH (FREE) FOOD: placing a food order, donating paper goods/ water bottles, managing the food station.
