We hope everyone had a great first week of school. We were so happy to welcome students back into the building and see all of your smiling faces at pick up and drop off. Teachers have been working hard to plan exciting and engaging activities for students to learn more about each other and build community in their classrooms. We know that this is setting students up to be successful all year long. Please see below for a few first week updates.
Have a lovely weekend,
Katie and Mattea

Morning Drop Off Reminder - For morning drop off, please remember to enter Scott street via Halsted and park in the extra parking lot across the street or at Target. Please do not stop in the middle of the street for your child to either exit or enter your vehicle. This is dangerous.
End of Day Plan for Week 2 for K-4th Grade Students (Please complete) - The end of the school day involves lots of moving parts and kids going to various places (bus, after care, pick up, Stanton). Please fill out the End of Day Plan Survey Week 2 for your child by 10AM on Monday, so we can help facilitate correct end of day plans for students! If your student is in K-4 (and especially if they are a student who rides the bus or goes to Stanton), completing the form (https://forms.gle/zwzSxeCBvu8iPKy39) is imperative for correct end of day logistics. (Students in grades 5-8 are expected to know their schedule.) Please contact the office before noon if there is an end of day change.
*We do this survey for the first 3 weeks as schedules begin to normalize for students.*
CPS Transportation Challenges - We know that some bus routes have been challenging this week, routes are long and bus pick up has been inconsistent. If you are having transportation issues please reach out to Student Transportation 773-553-2860, option 7 or your bus company.
Self Dismissal for Students - If you would like your student to self dismiss at the end of the school day, please submit a signed note to the main office that requests that your child self dismisses.
Skinner North Parent Handbook - Just a reminder that you can find our Parent Handbook at http://www.skinnernorth.org/school-handbook-2022-2023.html. We added some information in regards to the Student Rights and Responsibilities section.
