Please see below for a few updates and reminders.
Have a wonderful Twos-Day (2/22/22),
Outdoor Line Up Starting Again Tomorrow – As the weather is warming up and snow melting, we will return to outdoor line up for students. Students will not be able to come into the building until 8:30 unless signed up for Right At School or if they ride the school bus.
Yearbook Opt Out Form - Our students are working hard on our yearbook. To further support their work, please complete this SN22 Yearbook Opt Out Form if you do not want images of your student included in the yearbook. Yearbook order forms will come out later.
SY22 SEL Skills Inventory – This year, Chicago Public Schools’ Office of Social Emotional Learning (OSEL) is partnering with schools across the district to explore strategies for understanding and supporting students’ development of social and emotional (SEL) skills and Skinner North is pleased to have been invited to participate. During the window of November 29- December 17, 2021, we surveyed students in 5th through 8th grade about their SEL skills from their own perspective. Please see this link for more information and aggregated data.
Principal’s Report – Please see this link for the principal report from last week’s LSC meeting.
Information for Families About 2021 Tax Credits - Please see this folder for important information and helpful resources about child-related tax credits that can help families receive tax refunds, even if you are not required to file. The linked materials are in both English and Spanish.

SN Parent and Caregiver Virtual Forum for SSCA
Monday, February 28, 7-8pm
The Skinner North Diverse Needs Committee is holding an open forum for parents and caregivers to discuss and share information of their own experiences with the 2022 CPS Student Specific Corrective Action (SSCA) reimbursement process.
A couple of parents have graciously offered to share their experience thus far. We welcome any SN parents and caregivers with questions or experience with the current process, or that are in the middle of the process, to listen and share.
The forum will be via Zoom. In order to preserve the privacy of families, the session will NOT be recorded. Additionally, the Zoom link will only be distributed to the SN Diverse Needs Google Group, or to anyone that specifically requests it. If you would like to receive the link, please indicate your interest in this form [form link to come] by 5pm on February 28.
Many thanks to Skinner North families for sharing your experiences to help other families as they navigate the process!
Note from our Skinner North staff:
Individual schools are not being made aware when the district’s SSCA team reaches out to families. School staff are not informed on conclusions to any of these interactions, and the school is only included if there is a formal meeting or questions regarding conclusions the team should make.
Welcome to Pat Mamaat! - We are excited to introduce our new AM security officer. He will be helping direct traffic in the mornings and monitoring the building in the mornings. We are glad to have him on our team.
