Welcome to Skinner North!

Dear Parents, Families and Friends,

The students, staff, and administration of the Skinner North Classical School welcome you to our website. We hope that you find the information on this site useful and that it provides insight into what makes Skinner North a special place.

Skinner North opened in September 2009. It is currently home to  370 students from Kindergarten through sixth grade.  When we reach full capacity, we will have two classrooms of 30-32 students in grades K-8.  Some of our amenities include cooking kitchen, 350-seat auditorium, a learning garden, a library, two science labs, two computer labs and a gymnasium with a rock climbing wall.

We have a dedicated, experienced and caring staff.  We are committed to providing rigorous, differentiated instruction to all students.  With a focus on teaching the whole child in an academically advanced environment, we work to establish norms of highly successful and socially-motivated individuals in a community that promotes collaboration, leadership, and celebrates the diversity of the students, families, and staff.

To meet this commitment, we offer various programming during and before/after school.  During school day, all students have rigorous math, literacy, writing, social studies and science, in addition to art, music, Spanish and physical education.  Teachers also integrate various technologies including smartboards, ipads, computer programs into lesson plans.  Before/after school programming offers a wide range of activities including sports, violin, LEGO robotics, drama, yearbook, science, math club, and chess.

Another key aspect of our school is the involvement of our students'  families. We have an incredibly active and caring group of parents and guardians who volunteer in our classrooms, around the building and with our parent/teacher organization, the Friends of Skinner North.

Thank you for your interest in Skinner North Classical School.  I look forward to partnering with you.  If you have any questions please contact me directly.

Sincerely,
Ethan Netterstrom, Ed.D.
